THE AUTHOR
Steve Beal Sr. was born into a lineage of preachers and nourished by the Zondervan bibles that lined his grandfather’s Christian bookstore. But more than anything, he was nourished by the living examples of faith he saw every day.
He is a father, son, and husband who is passionate about encouraging others to humble themselves before God to fulfill the tremendous plans He has for each of us. This passion isn’t theoretical; it was forged in the fires of real life. It comes from watching his own parents, the Beals and the Petersons, live out their faith with love, humor, and unwavering commitment.
Steve didn’t set out to be an author. He wrote Generation Jumping: Losing Those Who Are Not Lost because he felt the stories of his family were too important to keep to himself. He calls himself a “generation jumper”. Someone who leaps into the lives of the generation before him to listen, learn, and love. He believes the greatest lessons aren’t found in grand gestures, but in the steady, humble examples of those who walk just ahead of us.
He has come to believe that the debt we owe our parents is best paid forward, not paid back. This book is his first attempt at doing just that; sharing the legacy he was given in the hope that it will encourage others to find and honor the heroes in their own lives. When he’s not writing, Steve is still learning on the fly as a father, cherishing his role as a son, and doing his best to honor the legacy he was given. He’s just a man, flawed and forgiven, who hopes these stories will inspire you to look back with gratitude and forward with purpose.
